| After I graduated from Humboldt University and my husband Bruce returned from a year in Vietnam,we began our family. Bruce and I have raised four children, Debra, Susan, Rebecca, and David, and put them through college. I was mostly a stay-at-home mom but did do part time work over the years in the fields of child care, education (as a teacher's aide), and medical transcription as well as a lot of volunteer work at my children's schools. We have traveled throughout the US as my husband and I enjoy birding and want to see as many different species as possible. We have also traveled to Costa Rica and hope to do a lot more traveling now that all the children are on their own. We also enjoy our four grandchildren (with more to come along in the future). Over the years my hobbies have included raising goats, rabbits and chickens, gardening, birding, traveling, playing the piano, sewing, aerobic dancing and exercise, reading, quilting and making beaded ornaments. |

| How was adult life different than what you expecte? |

| When I left high school I had plans to have a career, but my goals changed when I was in college and having a family became the focus of my life. Though I had a good childhood, my adult life has been a lot more interesting and fun than was my childhood. I think this was due to the neat guy I married. I feel like I have had a very fulfilling, happy life. Lucky, I guess. |

Plans or goals for the next 5~10 years? |
|
|
|
We hope to do a lot more traveling and birding in the next 10 years, outside the US as much as we can afford, starting with Australia this fall. |
