Past40yrs:My overly detailed bio has been posted since the 40th Reunion so I'll not repeat all that stuff. Updates during the last five years include retiring from NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in 2005 where I worked as the Logistics Director for 18 years.......ended up with 36 years of federal service that includes my civil service logistics work for the Navy Department here in the Washington, D.C. area and my six years of active duty with the U.S. Navy as a logistics officer during 1969 - 1975. I then worked for over two years for a small business company in Virginia where I was the program manager and VP for their support services contract with the U.S. Transportation Security Administration. Although the job paid very well, the work managing 125 employees supporting 15 contract task orders for the somewhat unorganized Government client was "mucho stresso"! I decided at the end of 2007 that I had enough of those challenges and have been "retired-retired" but still!
doing a little part-time consulting work for my former company. I'm also having fun with my part-time model trains home business selling stuff on eBay. Also built a garden railway in my backyard last month that I've wanted to do for the last 20 years but never had the time or energy while working my career. My wife also retired the end of 2007 from working for the Navy Department for 35 years here in the Washington, D.C. area. The other good news is that our daughter completed her four years at UVA with a degree in architecture and has since then been working at a landscape architecture firm in Charlottesville, VA. However, she's decided she doesn't want to be a landscape architect and has accepted a job at a local Charlottesville winery where she can learn the winemaking business.....she also plans to go to cullinary school in Napa, CA, next year and then ??? from there!

Plans or goals for the next 5~10 years? |

Retirement to include staying 1-3 months during the winters in my home State of California.....probably in the San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara areas......I love the ocean since I grew up on the Pacific Coast while living in various Northern California State Parks when my dad was a park ranger. My wife and I may get part-time jobs doing something.....we're so used to working that we feel we need to do something!

I hate to admit it but I haven't been to Eureka and environs since around 1970 or so. Coming back to the Eureka area will be quite an experience for me. My brother who lives in Sonora, CA, and graduated from EHS in 1966 will be meeting me in Eureka after the Reunion and we're going to go visit places where we used to live as kids, such as Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park and Patricks Point State Park. I look forward to the EHS Reunion and visiting my "roots"!
